Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama will host a Dinner in which one teen member will be named Youth of the Year. As the organization’s Youth of the Year the winner will receive a scholarship to the college of his/her choice. Subsequently, the newly named, 50th Anniversary Red Diamond BGCCA Youth of the Year will compete against other Boys & Girls Clubs members across Alabama for the state title and will receive a $5,000 scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America and go on to vie for the regional Youth of the Year and ultimately National Youth of the Year.
The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary teen in recognition of their leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. The Youth of the Year program honors America’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to a great future and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire.
The five competing teens for the Youth of the Year Program (YOY), which promotes service to Club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. The 2019 Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama Youth of the Year finalists –
